Liquid level sensors are used to determine if a liquid exists at a particular level in a container. They are designed to change state when a liquid level changes.

What is a capacitance level sensor?

Capacitance level sensors (TLL150, TLL130, TLL171 and TLL352) are operated by two parallel metal plates that act as a probe and form an electrical circuit when submerged in a liquid. If the liquid level rises and falls, this will change the capacitance measured by the probe in a predictable way, and therefore it can be used very effectively as a measurement of liquid level.

What is a reed switch level sensor?

Liquid level sensors with a reed switch (S3 and S5 senders) use a magnetic float that adjusts with the liquid surface. As the magnetic float moves, the switch opens or closes, giving an electrical circuit to operate the sensor.
